STAND-UP PADDLE
STAND-UP PADDLE
Three Stand Up Paddle boards are at your disposal. Explore the white sandbanks just 10 minutes from the house, or adventure along the unspoilt Fenua Aihere coastline at your own pace. You can also simply join our floating pontoon for unforgettable daily swims.
SNORKELING / SWIMMING
SNORKELING / SWIMMING
The lagoon in front of the house offers remarkable coral biodiversity, with thousands of tropical fish, rays, sea turtles and young harmless sharks. Choose from different courses adapted to your swimming level: explore the coastal reef or the lagoon sandbar, over long or short distances and in deep or shallow water. An unforgettable experience !
✓ The shortest distance: starting from the floating pontoon, swim to the right and explore the coral garden, between the channel and the coastline!
✓ The best part: take the kayak or stand up paddle and row 5 to 10 minutes straight in front of the house in the lagoon until you reach the sandbank right opposite! Put on your mask and fins and explore this coral garden, from the sandbank to the reef, as you wish: hundreds of corals with different shapes and pigments are the preferred habitat of tropical fish with a thousand colors!
✓ Swimming course 1: swim from the house, follow the fringing reef to the right, follow the drop-off to the white and black marker: at the channel, look left and right before crossing, then continue along of the white sand bank as much as you want...Think about the return journey being as long as the outward journey! This route offers the best chance of encountering rays.
✓ Swimming course 2: swim from the house, follow the fringing reef to the right. Arriving at the black and white marker, do not cross the channel but follow the channel, swimming outside it to Fare Mahora point. This portion is a real coral garden with multicolored fish. At Fare Mahora point, depending on your level of endurance, continue towards the mouth of the end of the road to extend your swim or return on foot to the house along the coast, or swim back.
✓ Swimming course 3: follow course 2 to Fare Mahora Point or walk on foot to Fare Mahora Point. At this point, cross the channel towards the pass following the outer drop-off of the reef: after passing along the underwater caves, continue along the reef barrier: numerous fish typical of coral passes and frequent sea turtles. Continue to the green marker and even further to the surf spot: think carefully about the duration of the return trip, depending on your strength. Warning: Route prohibited in case of excessive swell: strong currents!

Bicycle ride
Bicycle ride
Discover the surrounding area by bike on an incredible and leisurely ride. Travel the winding path through lush nature, hug the coastline and soak up Tahiti's spectacular landscapes.
After 10 minutes of driving, reach the end of the road and take the Tahiti ring road by pedaling towards Taravao, on the cycle path, which runs alongside the road:
1) After 15 minutes, after the town entrance sign, there is a tap with free and fresh water: 3 minutes further, stop at the small cement wall by the sea, to discover a small source of fresh water which emerges into the sea and generates a very original roadside bathing area….
2) Stop at Tino's (MATAI VANIRA), a little before the Vavi river bridge, to buy organic and local 100% vanilla and admire its small vanilla plantation.
3) Drive another 30 minutes on the road to buy souvenirs at the artisan fare, at the Vairao town hall, on the mountain side, opposite the town quay.
4) Then, just a few pedal strokes further, discover the Marae Nuutere, (turning right at the yellow MFR sign on the mountain side), an archaeological vestige of ancestral times.
5) Swim, a little further, at the unmissable white sand beach of Maui, on the side of the road and perhaps meet, while snorkelling, sea turtles, along the fringing reef (access via the small passes along the mooring cement block, only in calm seas),
6) Stroll at Riri Point, a little further away, Punui seaside, site developed following the 2024 Olympic surfing games.
7) On the way back, eat at the “Maui Beach” restaurant for its view of the lagoon from your table (or buy food at the small store opposite to have a picnic on the beach!) or return to Vairao quay, next to the town hall, to eat at the Tetavania snack restaurant, for its menu very popular with locals.
8) Continuing to return towards Teahupo'o, meet the roadside sellers and make your "short circuit" purchases: fruits, vegetables, fresh fish, etc. Stop at Aquapac, just before reaching the end of the road, to buy farmed shrimp directly from the producer.

Pam, who you may have already encountered in her 4X4 or with her brush cutter in the field, will come with seasonal fruits from her garden, a few coconuts and you will have to extract the milk, prepare the fruits and the dough, then cook everything before serving your dessert and letting the whole house taste it! You will take the opportunity to learn a few words of Tahitian because Pam does not speak English, which makes the workshop much tastier! 5000f / 2h.
Wild life
Wild life
26 species of land and sea birds fly in the sky and land on the branches of the Tahiti-bungalow trees. Some are sedentary in the surrounding area, others are migratory and return every year. The stream at the edge of your house is home to Tilapia, goatfish and eels. You can feed the eels with meat, chicken, fish and pet them in the process! The 3 ducks that live on the land are no longer really wild and will be happy to eat what you offer them: vegetable peelings, leftovers from your plates, etc.
